It is finally time! EuroPride 2018 begins in Stockholm on 27 August, and continues all the way to 5 August, before it continues in Gothenburg. The celebration starts with a kickoff in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm. The event is a collaboration with the Swedish festival Putte i Parken. The official inauguration is on August 1 in EuroPride Park in Stockholm.
It is it is finally time for EuroPride 2018, which is incredibly exciting. I’m really excited about this kickoff, not least because-for all the artists, says Alf Kjeller, project manager for EuroPride 2018.
It is a great honor for Putte i Parken to host this kickoff, since Pride stands for something positive very important, says Niclas Lagerstam, festival manager for Putte I Parken. ‘
The kickoff presents a number of artists, out of which one is Plommons, Sweden’s first female pop group, was founded 54 years ago in 1964 just outside of Stockholm. Plommons made hundreds of gigs on all stages around Sweden. In 1965, just 1 year after they made their first performance, they performed on one of Swedens major Stages as the warm up to the Who. Some girl bands have since formed, but Plommons were the first!
We’re the Plommons the world’s oldest rock band! It’s an honor and a dream come true to perform at the EuroPride kickoff, says band member Mådde Lindqvist.
The kickoff starts in Kungsträdgården on August 27 at 6pm. The official inauguration is on 1 August!

The extraordinary Carina E Nilsson, who is the conductor for the Evening has done more than 6000 performances and is one of Sweden’s most hired and appreciated pianists.
Carina has toured with many of Sweden’s greatest and dearest artists. Carina will bring magical music to this beautiful kickoff of Europride 2018. Carina also has 4 musicians on stage to help the evening show one step closer to the rainbow heaven.
Evelina Olsén is a famous name in music circles and has a long music career behind her, both as a choir singer for major Swedish artists and as a solo artist. In 2016, Evelina made the official song of Stockholm Pride ” Kärleken är vi ” and we cannot get enough of Evelina or her song so we are happy to welcome her back to us! -Pride stands for everything that is beautiful and needed in the world we live in. Everybody should have the right to love who they want. Be the person you want to be, says Evelina Olsén.
Gladys del Pilar is considered by many to be Sweden’s own gospel and soul queen. Besides the gospel she has sung everything from schlager to rock. In 2002, she competed in the ESC with the song ”Never Let It Go” with the group Afro-Dite and 2014 Gladys celebrated her 25th anniversary as an artist. We are happy to welcome Gladys to Kungsträdgården!
Linda has studied at the Sibelius Academy 1985-97 for teachers such as Géza Szilvay and Mauricio Fuks. She was called a musical wonder and went on her first Tour together with “the Helsinki Strings” when she was only eight years old. She is now famous around the world and tours Europe, Asia and the United States. Linda has also played in the Finnish National Opera’s Orchestra. Linda constantly makes concerts and brings extraordinary music to the Stage and will grace our Kickoff with some amazing Pieces.
Viktoria Tocca has been said to have one of the most beautiful voices of our generation. This has lead the Swedish born singer to some of the biggest musical theatre stages in the world, where she has taken on major roles such as Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s masterpiece The Phantom of the Opera for two years, Sissi in the world premiere of German original musical Ludwig II, as well as the iconic female lead Evita.
This fall she is is taking part in the musical “The Bridges of Madison County” at Maximteatern here in Stockholm. Please welcome Viktoria to Stockholm and Europride!
Gunilla Backman is one of Sweden’s most experienced musical artists who made her first role in 1982 as Liesl in the Sound of Music. Gunilla has, just to name a few musicals, played in Chess, Jesus Christ Superstar, Miss Saigon, Sunset Boulevard and also in Les Misérables where she played Cozett in more than 1,000 shows in Sweden, Germany and London. Gunilla is perhaps best known for Donna in the Abba musical Mamma Mia! She has last sang Barbra Streisand at Stadsteatern in Stockholm and now she is touring Sweden. Welcome Gunilla!
Kajsa began her career as a TV host at the Swedish channel ZTV during the 90’s. She had a singing career and released the single ”Angel Eye” and the music video was directed by Jonas Åkerlund. Many people might recognise Kajsa as the dancer in the video of Culture Beats giant hit ”Mr. Vain”. This summer she is hosting the Tour ”We who love the 90’s” but of course she will make some time for Kick off for Europride in Kungsträdgården as one of the Hosts
